What is a credit card chargeback?
A refund that is forced by the issuer bank (i.e. a credit card holder's credit card bank) is known as chargeback. This occurs when a cardholder decides to formally dispute a charge on his or her credit card bill for any reasons. Credit Card banks permit chargebacks as per VISA and MASTERCARD rules. This is allowable for up to 12 months from the date of the transaction. Some of the possible reasons for the chargeback as follows:

  • The Sub Merchant has not shipped the goods or delivered the promised service.
  • The Sub Merchant has taken back the goods or cancelled the services but not yet issued a refund on the credit card.
  • The cardholder's credit card has been fraudulently used by someone else to procure goods and services without knowledge or prior agreement of the cardholder and so on...

  • Sub Merchant should keep proof of goods shipped and delivered. This could be in the form of a Courier consignment note or Receipt from the final consignee.
  • Sub Merchant can prove that the customer was informed in advance about refunds /return of goods for replacement faulty goods.
as it helps us to forward your request with proper information.

All the approved transactions are displayed in your ABCpayments.com sub-merchant admin interface under "pending" mode for the next 14days. During this period of 14 days the sub-merchant has to perform any one of the following actions.
  • He may decide not to fulfill the order and mark it as cancelled.
  • He may ship the goods and mark the order "Shipped" to claim the amount.
Our system would automatically cancel every order that is found pending after 14 days. However if the sub-merchant is confident of shipping the goods after a period of 14 days, he may go ahead and capture the amount, and subsequently ship the goods as per their agreement. If the sub-merchant subsequently fails to do this and wish to refund the amount, the refund charge (as per the agreement) will have to be borne by the sub-merchant. Once the capture or fulfillment process has been completed by the sub-merchant, ABCpayments.com will put these orders in payable "PayQueue" and would be paid to you as per your payment cycle (defined in the agreement).
